The truth is that digital wellness isn’t built through a single assembly, lesson, policy, or parent workshop. It’s built over time through small, intentional decisions that help students, staff, and families develop healthier relationships with technology. Over the past several years, my school district has been exploring what that looks like in practice. We’ve experimented with new ideas, learned from our successes and our mistakes, partnered with families and neighboring districts, elevated student voice, and created opportunities for our community to reflect on how technology is shaping our lives.
This presentation is a collection of that work. Inside you’ll find real examples of family resources, staff learning experiences, student-led initiatives, communication strategies, digital wellness events, and implementation ideas that have helped move this work forward in our district. It’s a work in progress, the same way the work itself is. Digital wellness keeps evolving as we learn alongside our community, so I keep updating this presentation with new resources, examples, and lessons learned. I’m also building out a digital wellness page for our school community. As soon as it’s live, I’ll link it here — so check back soon!
If you’re looking for ideas to bring back to your school, district, or family, I hope you find something useful.
